List of Softwares – Michael Russo Hoboken

Wrap up a personal firewall, antivirus, spam filter, and parental control in one integrated package and you’ve got a security suite. Some add phishing protection or other privacy-related features, but Norman Security Suite 11 ($60.95 per year for three licenses) sticks with the basics. In testing, none of the components impressed, however.

The product’s main window looks identical to that of Norman’s standalone antivirus. Both products are labeled Security Suite 11 across the top, and both include the same big buttons on the home screen (to launch a scan, check for updates, and view quarantined items). The difference becomes evident when you switch to the Settings page. Where only one component was enabled in the antivirus, the suite shows Antivirus, Personal firewall, Parental control, and Antispam as available. Just as with the antivirus, unavailable features somewhat confusingly report “The license for this product has expired.”

A tool for increasing download speeds by up to 5 times, and for resuming, scheduling, and organizing downloads. The program will resume unfinished downloads due to network problems, or unexpected power outages.
